Jim Morgan has nearly 20 years of experience in creditors’ rights, restructuring, and complex commercial litigation practice. This practice bridges transactional and litigation, from negotiating agreements to trying cases to verdict. Jim regularly advises and represents financial institutions, corporations, and individuals with respect to their rights as creditors or debtors, often in circumstances involving insolvency, both in and out of the court. Jim also represents trustees and committees in the bankruptcy process. As an experienced litigator, Jim has represented parties in all aspects of commercial and bankruptcy-related cases in numerous state and federal courts, including cases alleging preferential and fraudulent transfers, breach of contract and fiduciary duties, and other business torts.

Jim is also an accomplished speaker and published author in the legal field. Jim has written dozens of published articles and book chapters and presented to various groups on a wide range of legal topics relevant to bankruptcy and commercial litigation. The most recent book chapter, "Asset Sales under Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code," was published in 2010 by Thomson Reuters in its new book, Collier's Guide to Chapter 11 Practice. Also published in 2010 was the supplement to his chapter, "Bankruptcy Issues under BAPCPA," in IICLE's Asset Protection Planning (2007). In 2009, Aspatore published his chapter, "Representing the Unsecured Creditor in a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Case," in the book titled Creditors' Rights in Chapter 11 Cases.
